Alzheimer's Disease Progression

Alzheimer's is progressive disorder that occurs in brain. There are three stages in this Alzheimer's disease. They are mild, moderate and severe. People who suffer from this disease differ in pattern of problems. The person's abilities differ from day to day or on the same day. Alzheimer's is a form of dementia where first brain cells destroy which leads to disorder of brain and further causes to death. There are severe problems that occur due to dementia such as heart failure, pneumonia, etc but these are common in every person who has this disease. Every person will not go through all the phases.

Mild dementia is also called as forgetful phase. Symptoms of this phase are less active, less interest in hobbies, problem in making decision, grasp complex ideas slowly, less in communicating with others, forget the things happened just before. This phase may last from 2 to 5 years. The confusional phase is also called as moderate dementia. This is the longest phase. It will be for 2to 1o years. Symptoms for this stage are become anger, upset, depressed, neglectful in habits such as eating, taking bath, stay always at home and avoid going out, forget names easily, behavior will be appropriate, wander at night times sometimes lost completely. Severe dementia is final stage it will be there till the death. During this stage lot care should be taken as person becomes totally disable. Symptoms of this phase are be restless, aggressive in nature, uncontrolled movements, difficulty in walking, becoming unconsciousness, etc.

Researchers are still in process of research to know the exact reason for the cause of this Alzheimer's disease. There is no cure for this disease. Effective care and interest should be given to the people who suffer from this Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's organization is helping to know people about this disease. It is also helping to collect funds for research. There are many reasons for this Alzheimer's disease to occur such as head injury, brain tumor, family factors, genetics, hereditary, etc. German scientist Alois Alzheimer found this disease in 1907 in a woman who died because of sudden illness of mind because of failure of brain cells. Progression stages often overlap. They are not common in every person.
